Fitness kickboxing is a great compliment to any exercise routine
Muscle and Fitness magazine rates it as the number one fat burner, with
over 800 calories burned in a one hour class! Unlike traditional martial
arts there are no belts; participants wear workout clothes and athletic
shoes. The first half of each class (aerobic) begins with a light warm-up
round & stretch, followed by various combinations of punches & kicks
delivered in the air (shadow-boxing). The second half (anaerobic) provides
students an opportunity to develop their attributes and relieve stress by
hitting focus mitts & Thai pads and concludes with a round of conditioning.
With regular attendance, this class will improve strength, muscle tone,
flexibility, endurance, coordination, speed and balance for both the novice
and seasoned athlete.
